A screen porch, moths, and storytelling

I love this…
I have an app on my brilliant phone called Sticher Radio.
This app allows me to hear all kinds of podcast covering all sorts of content.
Most of you know I spend a lot of time on the road, and listening to these podcast are very entertaining due to the fact that they are commercial free, and there is not set time limit on the individual podcast… some are 5 min’s in length, some 30, and some more, and they cover all sorts of topics.
My favorite podcast?
The Moth.
I don’t know much about it other than it is a non-profit organization, and it is wonderful to listen to.
Their tagline;

Everyone has a story“.

They have some really colorful definitions of what the Moth is on their facebook page (click here).

They define themselves like this;
The Moth is a non-profit storytelling organization dedicated to the art of personal narrative. We produce curated storytelling shows, host regular StorySLAMs in New York, Chicago, Detroit and L.A., and operate a community outreach program committed to the discovery of all of the city’s stories”.

I say it’s awesome storytelling.

The Moth is simply ‘True Stories told Live’.
One person on stage, one microphone, a listening audience, and the wonderful art of storytelling!
Real people, and real stories.  Some are hilarious, some are very clever, most unpredictable, and some sad.
(you know I love a true story)
Bottom line… I really, really enjoy these stories, and I think you will too.

So, do yourself a favor… check out their website, facebook page.
And if you listen to podcast, do yourself a huge favor and include this one to your library.
